FOR DOG WALKERS WHO'VE SEEN THEIR REAL HOURLY RATE
You know you need to put your prices up. You just don't know what to say.
What Do I Say?! is every awkward client message, already written. Copy, paste, send, done.
Sound familiar?
You've done the maths. You know you're charging too little. You've even drafted the message... three times. Then deleted it.
Because what if Mrs Patterson says "oh, that's quite a lot"? What if they all go to the new walker charging £11? What do you say when someone cancels an hour before a walk, and you know you should charge, but it feels mean?
So you don't send it. You keep saying yes to "can you fit Bella in tomorrow?" You keep feeding the cat for free. You keep answering WhatsApps at 10pm.
It's not that you don't know your worth. It's that you don't know what to say.
Now you don't have to find the words
What Do I Say?! is a pack of 25+ ready-to-send messages for every awkward conversation in your dog walking business. Sorted by situation, so you can find the right one in ten seconds, even when a client's waiting for a reply.
Every message is warm, friendly and firm. No grovelling. No over-explaining. Just change the name and send.
What's inside
Here's one of the messages
For when a client replies "Oh, that's quite a lot..."
"I completely understand, [client name], and thank you for being honest with me. I don't put my prices up lightly. This is my first change in [number] years, and it means I can keep giving [dog's name] the same reliable, happy walks. I really hope you'll stay with us, but if you'd like to talk about fewer walks a week to keep the cost down, just let me know and we'll find something that works. 🐾"
No discount. No backing down. Just a kind, confident reply. There are 25+ more like this inside.
It pays for itself the first time you use it
Charge for one late cancellation. Get one overdue invoice paid. Add one extra you used to do for free. Any one of those, and your £17 is back in your pocket.
Everything after that is money you'd have lost.
Made for your phone
📱 Written, not videos. Read it in the van between walks.
📋 Copy and paste. Every message is ready to send.
⚡ Instant access. It's in your inbox the second you've paid.
💬 Works with WhatsApp. Including how to save your favourites as quick replies, so they're one tap away.
Founder
Cath Davies
Hey, I'm Cath, I'll be honest with you: I've never been a dog walker. But I've spent years running service businesses built on regular clients. I ran a cleaning business with a team of six and 30 to 40 regular clients, and now I run my own dog business, Pooch Play Time.
Pricing, cancellations, chasing payments, clients who want "just one more favour", and feeling guilty about putting prices up: I've dealt with all of it. I wrote this pack because I know how much easier it is when someone hands you the words.
FAQ
What format is it?
A Google Doc you can open on any phone, tablet or computer. Make your own copy and edit it however you like.
How do I get it?
Straight away. You'll get an email with your link as soon as you've paid.
I've only just started. Is it still for me?
Yes. It's much easier to set up your cancellation policy and payment terms from day one than to introduce them later.
Will the messages sound like me?
They're written in plain, friendly English, and every one is easy to tweak. Swap a word, add an emoji, use the dog's nickname. They're a starting point, not a script.
What if a client still argues?
There are follow-up messages for the most common pushbacks, including when someone argues about a cancellation charge.
Send the message you've been putting off
You've seen your real hourly rate. You know something has to change. This pack gives you the words, so you can stop drafting and deleting, and actually hit send.
